About

Your home should feel like somewhere worth being.

Eclait is a small candle brand. The collection is short, the names are honest, and the candles smell like the flowers inside them — which is the whole point.

Most candles are 47 ingredients with names like "Autumn Harvest Dreams." Ours are four ingredients, named after the flower in the wax. The flower is the scent story. There's a real dried rose in our rose candle, real lavender in our lavender candle. You can see them. They aren't decoration — they're the answer to the question "what does this smell like?"

We sit somewhere between Boy Smells and Diptyque. Less editorial-loud than the first, less precious than the second. The price is $54 because that's what a 280g coconut–soy candle with real botanicals and clean packaging costs, after we make a small margin on each one. The math is honest, even if the brand is poetic.

On the slow shipping

Our candles ship in 14–28 days. Slower than most things you order. We tell you this on every product page, every cart, every checkout, and every order confirmation — because surprising people with slow shipping is bad behaviour. Setting the expectation up front is just good business.

Why slow? Because we're a small operation, and we don't have a Toronto warehouse yet. We're testing whether this brand makes sense before we lock up capital in a fulfillment lease. As soon as it does — as soon as you and people like you tell us this is something worth building — we'll be shipping from Calgary in 3–5 days. Until then, slow is the trade-off, and a 60-day no-questions refund is the safety net.

On the science layer

Lavender shows up in olfactory research more than any other scent profile when subjects are asked to rank "calming." Cedarwood and rose are not far behind. We mention this because it's true, and because we think honest curiosity about why scents work is more interesting than vague wellness claims.

We don't claim our candles treat anxiety, lower cortisol, or do anything a regulator would care about. They smell good. They make a room feel like somewhere worth being. The rest is up to you.

On the long game

The candle is the entry point. Long term, the brand is about your home — the things in it, the way it smells, the way it feels at the end of the day. Reed diffusers, linen sprays, hand creams, ceramic match strikers. All under one roof, none superfluous.

We'll get there one product at a time. The candles first.
